I am on the board of Sturbridge Place and I am trying to determine who is responsible for the upkeep of the entrance to Argyle. The city tells me that the Argyle Homeowners Assoc. is responsible. Does this assoc. exist or does each subdivision have their own assoc.? If you have any info. please advise me.

A few years ago, when Alberta Hipps was our council person, I went round and round with the city about this same issue.  I was told that the association that use to manage the front of Argyle dissolved and moved to  Chimney Lakes. That left the landscaping of everything from Blanding to Westport Rd. in limbo. There was no taxes being paid on any of the right of way and median because there was no association. Ms. Hipps was of NO help! At that point, I contacted the city and stated that I would pay the back taxes on the property and manage it through an LLC. Right after that, I got a phone call from the city stating that they were taking over the property and that they would be maintaining it. Apparently the different city departments involved didn't communicated with each other. Since then it has been a task to try and get a straight answer from a city official, nevermind getting the grass cut on a consistant basis. I then contacted our new councilman, Michael Corrigan, to see if he could cut through some of the red tape and get maintanance done along the roadway. Another waste of time! Talking with his office, it seemed like it was beneath Mr. Corrigan to have to deal with such a minor issue of landscaping in his district. With that said, my son and I have taken upon ourselves to cut the grass at the Argyle median more than a few times. I have also notices some occasional help from some other concerned neighborhood people, to which we say Thank You! Although recently I have noticed that there is one contractor that is keeping up with the grass cutting and it is looking better than it has in the past. I recently got  a quote, from a private company, on repairing the hole in the Argyle sign. Apparently there were other concerned citizens because the damage has since been repaired. Again, THANK YOU! More needs to be done but it's probably going to take a community effort. Waiting for our city officials to address this issue, I believe, is a lost cause.

Thats fantastic now if we could contact someone about Chimney Lakes rotten fencing that would make the drive out to oakleaf town center much nicer for everyone.  Personally I don't think anyone is working at Chimney Lakes since they seem to turn a blind eye to all of their own rules, and restrictions.
