Nominate them Again!
Are you the type of person who only tries something once and if they fail they don't try again. Don?’t be that person that says ?“if I can?’t get my way than I?’m taking my toys and going home.?” What's that old addage, ''Try, Try again.'' Don't give up on your friends getting recognition for a job well done! Submit them again. If they deserve an award for their efforts then NOMINATE THEM AGAIN. And be diplomatic about your submission... don't just say ''cuz I said so they should be awarded...'' maybe a lil honey will attract the bees? You could use this: ''Maybe this house has been overlooked, they have a wonderful garden.''
The thing I see happening here is that if things get overlooked by the (very few) volunteers that are involved, or if the volunteers maybe don't make a decision that someone agrees with, there is a bunch of complaining. There are a lot of projects around Kenwood that need volunteers and the same people keep doing the work because there are so few new volunteers to help. Things get hairy, some folks are accustomed to the ''old way'' of doing things. There's bound to be change that people aren't going to like, but its all part of the game. If you don't get the results you want, try again. Be diplomatic, make a difference, don't just whine when something doesn't happen.
And remember that a good majority of the people in Kenwood are working toward the same goal... making this neighborhood a really cool place to live. So complaining or pointing fingers at the people who are trying to do their best isn't the way to achieve it. Everyone is only human?… and humans are really good at not being perfect.
Just observations and truely not meant as any sort of attack on any individual.
