new policy explanation.
Hi Bill. I hadn't noticed that any of your postings had disappeared. Sharon and I did not delete any posting prior to last week when several that were ''of age'' were removed. If they were gone prior to last week, we will need to look into it with neighborhood link.
The policy that was suggested by the board was that postings be deleted 30 days from the initial post. I use suggested because 1) Sharon and I excercised some executive authority and made it 30 days from the last posting and 2) it was generally agreed upon, however I don't remember a formal vote being taken, so I am reluctant to say ''decided.''
I apoligize for any confusion and/or complaints this may cause. The intent was not to censor the discussion, rather to keep it fresh, and, direct some comments to a more appropriate forum (ie face to face). Sharon and I (and the rest of the board for that matter)don't want to keep anyone from voicing their opinions, comments, complaints, or anything else. Everyone has a opinion, and we value all of them. But, at the same time, when conversation goes off the beaten path and begins to talk about individuals, we need to be careful. We don't want to hurt our neighbors, and without the tone of voice and facial expresion to temper comments, they can come across as more aggressive than intended.
If you are unhappy with the board ''suggestion'', I encourage you to bring it up for discussion at Thursday's meeting. (You know how to get it put on the agenda).
