Go After the landlords

If these drug dealers are working during the day maybe it's connected to St Pete High? Last year Zach busted some kids behind the Star Deli for having drugs. Someone should find out from the school resource officer if their having a big drug problem and that maybe the school is keeping the dealers in business. Has anybody considered going after the people who rent to these dealers? It seems to me that if this has been an on going problem area for years that our energy should not be in marches but legal action against the landlords. The NAACP is using this aproach on 34th St. to go after the motels who look a blind eye to the drug dealing in their establishments.

It's all good.

Those are good ideas, like doing the marches. All we need are people to do them. I know Zack has been working with the resource officer of the school. Any time over the years, whether it's skipping, drugs or break-ins, they're all over it. I know the landlords have been contacted about selling their property. Some did, some didn't. Do you know any lawyers? It's a long process. I think we need to spend our energies in as many areas as possible. Some will help in one way and others in different ways. We all must do what we can. This includes code inforcement, clean-ups, CEPTED, law enforcement and citizens efforts. This includes marches. A
multi-prong approach seems the best way to attack.

Landlords are not the problem

I represent a multi-property owner he rents to only people who have complete background check. We as citizens cannot force anyone to sell their rental properties. Land lords that do good should not be included in your statement. You are talking about Slumlords. There is a difference.
I and the other maintenance people who work for Our landlord do the best we can. Some of the drug dealers in our neighbor hood could be property owners and maybe a member of the association. Has anyone thought about that? No you all just want to blame the landlords.

Broad Brush

No one group is to blame. But, one bad apple does make them all worth a look. Most renters are good neighbors. I've been there. But, I think we can all agree though, that a higher percentage of home ownership will make Kenwood a better place. We must look at everyone to help solve our problems. Just as we must look at many different ways to solve them.
