MIDTOWN

Midtown or HK property is not worth the asking price anyway. HK is not any more historic than any other old neighborhood in St. Pete. It is just money hungry people wanting to make a fortune on something they bought cheap.
Example: man buys house on 4th. avenue n. , paints the inside and trims trees, Paid $79,000 in May now he has it on market for $109,000. Rediculous . the hose was not worth $79,000 then or now!!!! If you do not want to be living in Midtown , you need to sell your house and move now. HK will soon be part of Midtown!

Asking Price

Not worth the asking price? If someone pays the price than it is no longer the asking price, it is the purchase price and someone must have thought it was well worth it or they wouldn't have purchased it. If the homes appraise out, (which most do-an interesting fact) at the asking price and someone purchases it at the asking price then it seems to me that it's a matter of value, supply and demand.

If you are talking about the house on 4th ave and the 23rd block, it sold for 109,000 (purchase price). Someone must have thought it was a pretty good deal because it wasn't on the market that long. If the fact that someone bought it and then resold it at a profit bothers you than maybe you should have bought it and done whatever you wanted with it. The day that free enterprise backs out of this neighborhood will be the day that HK will fall right back on its bended knees!
