We are faced with tremendous challenges as our county moves into the future, but we also are presented with tremendous opportunities. Development and revitalization of existing devloped areas are important to the future of the county.
As important is the protection of the character and quality of our neighborhoods and communities, our businesses and industries, our cultural and natural environment, and the very things which brought many of us to Pinellas County in the first place.
Upcoming workshops seek to balance the need for a vital economy with the need to protect the special character and communities that make Pinellas County a great place to live, a desirable place to work, and a lively place to visit.
The proposed new element of the Pinellas County Comprehensive Plan is the theme ''Planning to Stay.'' The Board of Commissioners is considering adoption of ''Planning to Stay'' and its principles to guide County planning decisions well into the future. The County wants your thoughts and vision for the Pinellas County Community!
