The Committee met last week and is growing in size and enthusiasm! I'm receiving calls and emails daily from people volunteering to help plan and execute this fabulous event. We have selected 7 homes of 10, and 5 are committed to participate. The homes range in size, age, architectural style, and location within the neighborhood.
Thank you to all those who have volunteered so far! Thanks to Deborah Mitrovka for handling Ad Sales and Sponsorships--she did an incredible job planning the first 2 Tours. The information she has provided to us is invaluable. Thanks, Kate Hawk for recruiting House Captains. Thanks, Wendy Wesley for helping with home selection and chairing the Preview Tour and Party subcommittee and to newcomer Kathy Calmers for volunteering to help Wendy. Thanks, Jim O'Donnell for help with the Budget and with ticket sales. Thanks to Andy and Tom O'Neill, who provided connections to an artist for the brochure and to an additional home for the Tour. Thanks to Rick, Stephanie, Jackie, Steve and all who have volunteered time, energy and great ideas!! We are still in need of House Captains and someone to take charge of our Ticket Outlets.
If you'd like to get involved, please e-mail me.
why would anyone come this year?

After all of the in-fighting and nasty exchanges on this web page (and in the neighborhood) why would anyone PAY to come here to visit? I don't think they would even want to come for free! We need to think about the repercussions of our actions!

See for yourself

On the contrary, I wish we could think of a way to charge people for a peek at our message board! Browsing it has been some of the most interesting reading I do all day.

By the way, even last year I wondered why anyone would want to come to the Home Tour. So I volunteered on the Home Tour committee and I was amazed to see the turn-out. The Tour has a very widespread appeal. Many of the committee volunteers have not been heard from on this web site. They are the people who quietly pitch in just for the fun and camraderie. It is evidence that this neighborhood is about a lot more than an association power squabble.

If you're not already on the committee, I strongly urge you to get involved. It's fun, and it's constructive.

because...............

They will come because it is a great event and interesting. Deborah and her co-chairs have done a great job the last two years and they are still volunteering their experience and expertise this year. It should be better than ever!

(and, most people don't read this site and couldn't care less about the infighting.)
