A two to three block area of North Shore was vandalized early this morning. The police, as of 9:30 am had discovered appoximately 25 cars, a few homes, and a few sidewalks which had been spray painted. Miscellaneous landscaping damage was also discovered.
The police officer and forensics team that I spoke with believe that this vandalism was the work of high school aged teens, walking on foot.
Some of the spray painting included obscenaties and some of the damage to cars was rather extensive. A police department vehicle was also damaged.
The vandalism was committed sometime between 3am and 7am, it is believed. Anyone with any information is urged to contact the police, who are committed to discovering the perpetrators. The area involved was primarily in the 500 block of 14th and 15th Avenues NE and Poplar Street, an area hit by thieves last month.
