The 1999 Committee voted to donate 10 percent of the profits of the Candlelight Tour of Homes to a charity, and the 2000 Committee has selected a charity to recommend to the Board of Directors. The Committee selected a non-profit Homeless Outreach Program to fill a particular gap in funding. More specific information will be provided following the Sept. Board meeting. The Candlelight Tour Committee is very pleased to give something back to our community.
The Home Selection subcommittee has received committments to participate from 5 homeowners so far, and Tour participants will find the homes fascinating, distinctive and beautiful. If you would like to volunteer your home or nominate a friend's or neighbor's home, please contact me.
Thanks to Kate Hawk for volunteering to recruit House Captains. Thank you to Deborah Mitrovka, who chaired the Committee for 1998 and 1999, did a beautiful job, and has volunteered to sell ads and secure sponsors for 2000. Thanks to Wendy Wesley for working on home selection, assisting in writing the brochure, and for chairing the Preview Party Subcommittee. Thanks to Jim O'Donnell, who volunteered to head up ticket sales on the day of the event and to all those who have volunteered to work that day. Thanks to the entire committee and to those unable to attend meetings who have contributed helpful information and great, creative ideas!!
