According to American Heritage Dictionary:
SLANDER- a false statement reported or uttered maliciously to damage someone's reputation

According to Webster:
SLANDER- a false tale or report maliciously uttered and intending to injure the reputation of another

The sexual predator postings in question were without a doubt false and malicious and damaging to one's reputation.
No one will ever know if anyone believed it- it was posted on a site with worldwide access.

Because hard copies were made before the postings were removed and frozen by the site provider prior to removal, the law and a judge will ultimately decide guilt and damages.

The matter has not been ignored.
