Monument

The monument on twenty second avenue near fourth street currently sits on private property and they control its fate. It does not sit in the right of way and can not be moved without the land owners permission. The city can not go onto private property and remove a monument or anything else for that matter without permission.

If the vine bothers you so much go out there and pull it out.

Besides, if the monument, as you say cost $27,000.00 to build, why spend even more money to move it. When is enough enough. If North Shore has this much extra money laying around isn't there some other worthwhile project you people can find to spend it on without trying to redo what past memberships have accomplished and put into place. Get creative and think of a few New improvements to work on. Think!

Neighborhood Entry

None of you currently running north shore would know this but the gateway entry monuments where placed at entry ways. T hat means a point where you enter. Placing the monument at 5th A. and 4th ST. is not an entering point or place. It is a passing by place. Putting the monument at coffee pot blvd. and Beach Drive is also not an entering point. I t is in the interior of the neighborhood. You really should leave the monument where it is so that the original layout and intent is maintained. If you move one whats next? Moving them all so that they do not make any sense at all.

What is so wrong with what previous members voted on and had installed? Why is the city so willing to let this neighborhood redo everything one, twice or thrice? Trying moving on to something else. Something new.

Good point. Surely available monies could be spent better elsewhere. This would be an absurd expenditure.

Monument on 22nd

just heard that the board is going to move the monument. I don't want you to move it. There is nothing wrong about where it is. Why; would the board want to do this. I do not understand. Please listen and leave it alone.
