  • Respect-O-Meter: Respected Neighbor
The St. Pete police put extra patrols in the neighborhood the last few nights and have apprehended the man they believe is responsible for the recent rash of garage break-ins and bicycle thefts. The man was caught in 600 block of 18th Avenue NE. Police report that he was not a resident of this area, did not appear to belong in this area, and was using the stolen merchandise to buy crack cocaine. When asked by an officer why he kept coming back into North Shore to committ these burglaries, the man replied that the neighborhood was dark, no one ever confronted him, and no one ever called the police after seeing him.
Our CPO, Jacques Lamonde, would like this to be a reminder to all residents: LOCK your door, cars & garages; CALL the police when you see someone prowling the neighborhood in the middle of the night; REPORT all suspicious activities; and LIGHT UP the area around your homes and garages.
