Great job on the 30th Avenue North
circle landscaping/median- the myrtles are flowering and it looks great. The monument at 5th Ave and 1st St is a weed patch, though. Thought the association had hired someone to take care of this- they need a reminder. By the way, I am all in favor of some dues moneys going to the upkeep of these areas. it is too much to ask association volunteers to try to keep up with it.

Maintenance
I fully agree with the othr posting. Dues should be for things like maintaining the entryways to the neighbrohood. Most of them look really good but some could use some care. Thanks to you folks who take the time to look after these things while the rest of us just tend to our own busy lives.

Thanks for the heads-up
Coincidentally, I had a phone call from a new member today asking about another area that was a bit shabby. I'm glad for the heads-up comments in this focum on the appearance of those areas. My routes never take me by those areas so I never seen them.
The Board had discussed alternative ways to provide perpetual upkeep earlier this year and it looks like something to review again at the next Board meeting.

Plant maintenance plan
At last night's meeeting, the Board discussed the ongoing lack of maintenance. It has been extremely difficult to recruit enough volunteers to take care of the monumental task (pun intended) of taking care of the plantings -- it's monumental because there are many areas to cover.
So the Board will explore paying someone to do the task after the areas are inventoried (monuments, markers, and other planted areas) and described so that bids can be solicited. We should know more in September at the next Board meeting.
