The Cobblestone Board is considering a bill of $15,000+ for the snow removal done since the pre-christmas storm. Unfortuantely only one homeowner came to the last board meeting where we met with the Green Plan representive. When we told him of his workers being observed not working, he was relatively unconcerned. Then because they thought we would not pay their bill they threatened to not plow if we get snow now. Please let me know ASAP what you observed regarding snow removal. What days, how many men / plows doing what (to what effect) so that all members of the board can make a fair decision based on the breakout of their work they provided for us to back up this invoice and decide what portion of it we should pay.

2nd question: What is your opinion of a comprimise that reduces the bill of $15,582 by $6,240 (the amount charged for work done on 12/21 (Thursday, the day after)? Please give your thoughts on this. Also I will try to see what other communities were billed. I will list the first four answers to the first question if permission is given.
Thanks.
snow removal charges

Esther Neal in 2939A wants to let you know that she is in complete disagreement with the snow removal charges from [green plan]. She told me that her ''neighbors did all of the shoveling'' and that she was very grateful to them since she had had a knee replaced and could not risk slipping on the snow/ice. Esther only saw men from Alpine after the sidewalks/parking lot had been cleared by the residents. She says there is ''no way that [green plan] should be billing for the number of hours they are claiming.'' [green plan] just wasn't here that many hours.

Snowstorm cleanup

My name is Sharon Nash and I live at 2939 E. During the first snow storm no one came to shovel snow until 4:30p.m. after the neighbors had already dug us out. Not a blade touched the parking lots for days which is why there were so many ruts and so much ice down by the mail boxes. It took 4 or 5 days for them to plow out behind our cars so we could get in and out easily. There has been 4 weeks of snow and no one but Donna, Drew and Kim have touched our sidewalks from Unit A down to Unit G. They are the ones that should be paid not the Green Plan. If they refuse to remove snow from the next storm it won' t be any different than the last 4 storms because they didn't remove our snow then either. We should hire a company that keeps up with these kinds of storms. If they'd shovel a couple of times a day and plow a few times it sure would be a lot easier to keep up with it. I certainly hope we do not pay that complete bill because they did not clean the complete complex. I know they never touched our area.
Thank you,
Sharon

Snow bill opinion

I personally did not witness cleaning or lack of cleaning either way. I did deal with unacceptable drives for two weeks getting in and out of the complex. The conditions were evident of a job not done. I hope and lobby that we do not pay the below mentioned bill. Our needs were not met or even attended to in my opinion.
