Last night neighbors across the street from us played their music so loudly, it thumped and vibrated through the walls of OUR house with our windows and doors closed! The music could easily be heard 3-4 blocks away.
I'm hoping that someone will see this post and offer some suggestions as to how to deal with people like this. Obviously, they don't care about the neighborhood, or the neighbors.
We tried several times last summer to ask them to turn the sound down, but to no avail. Many times they said they didn't speak English, although I have had conversations with the husband on other neighborhood issues in the past.
Any suggestions besides calling the police? Once the police are involved, the problem escalates to a different level, and I believe neighbors should try to get along. If we have to involve the police, it will be much harder to remain neighborly.
