Chickens

Posted in: Hamilton Highlands

I have noticed that many association rules are not being followed anymore which is understandable with the association pretty much being dead. Anyway, I heard that it is now legal to own chickens in the city limit and I am interested in having a couple. I will  have to do more research as to the exact laws but wanted to see what every ones thoughts are on the subject.

When I did a goggle search found quite a bit of info on owning chickens in Columbus.  The two things that stuck out most to me were:  1) check with your neighbors all around you and 2) that the chicken enclosure has certain restrictions and must be at least 100 feet from a property line.  There's a lot more things that you also have to do which you can find on the internet.  Also, I think I read--no roosters.

Please no. Go to the country if you want chickens.  Why would you subject them to living in the city ? It's not fair to them let alone your neighbors !!!
