The Monroe County Board of County Commissioners have agreed to allow the new ordinace to be advertised. The new law which was requested by S.I.B.H.A. was written by the Sheriff's Attorney Mr. Mark Willis. The law is very simple. It was borrowed from Santa Monica California. The County will post signs along the streets of the county that will be swept. The date and time of the cleaning will be posted, along with requesting that the vehicles be removed before that operation begins. Failure to remove your vehicle will result in it being towed. The new ordinance should come on line in about 3 or 4 months, near the end of 2001.
