Another successful clean up of Stock Island took place with the help of District Manager Mr. Greg Sullivan of Waste Management and the Stock Island Business & Homeowners Association on Saturday July 21, from 8:00 a.m. until 12 noon. Two trucks were filled with various types of trash. Waste Management will haul away any type of trash during regular weekly pick-ups if the residents of Stock Island would simply place the item in the garbage can. If the item is too large then cut it down. There is no charge for this service. It is paid for in your tax bill each year. We are finding air conditioners thrown into the bushes. There is no need for this. Place the larger items next to your garbage can & Waste Management will remove it. If the items are large amounts of tree trimmings you can still get it removed if you can bundle it up with string or get it into additional garbage cans. If the amount is like a small mountain. Waste management will come out for a fee of approximately $35 & haul it away.
