Summer is almost upon us, so now would be a good time for all homeowners to look around the EXTERIOR of your home and identify some routine home maintenance items that may need your attention. Below is a partial checklist that should help you get started.
. Maintain lawns (weed, feed & seed as needed, cut grass, edge sidewalks & driveways). Make sure there are no bare spots in the yard.
. Trim or shape up your shrubs on a regular basis throughout the growing season.
. Remove old or dead growth and weeds from flowerbeds and natural areas. Let's get some new flowers planted.
. Remove trash and debris from yards. lease don't leave the items at the curb until the pickup date is scheduled.
. Store garbage and recycle containers out of view from the front of the house.
. Remember to store lawn equipment and children's toys out of view when not in use.
. Portable basketball goals should not be left near the street.
. Remove mold/mildew from siding and painted surfaces.
. Paint house, trim, shutters, storage or outbuildings as required.
. House numbers must be displayed on house (NC Fire Code) for quick identification by police, fire and emergency vehicles. If you are one of the homes that have faded or missing numbers, now would be a great time to replace them!
. Please remember not to park vehicles/trailers etc. on the grass.
. All vehicles (unless stored in the garage) should display current NC tag and inspection. No wrecked or unlicensed vehicles should be left on the property.
. If you are going to make any additions or improvements to the exterior of your home, please don't forget to submit an Architectural Request Committee form BEFORE you start any work.
Your primary goal as homeowners should be to maintain, protect and enhance the value of your homes and the Association property.
Let's just use common sense and do what we can to make our community more attractive!
