DIRECTOR?’S CORNER:
Enclosed in this issue of the newsletter you will find a summary of our budget for 2003. As you can see with this budget, the Association will be forced to tighten the belt. It is more important now than ever before that all Association dues are made on time, in order for the bills to be paid on time. If you have any questions regarding the budget, please contact Borg Property Services at 480-456-6927. A full copy of the budget may be obtained by requesting a copy from Borg Property Services and sending $5.00 to cover the copying and mailing costs.
In May, the Association will be holding its Annual Meeting. During this meeting we hope three Board of Directors will be elected. In order for three new members to be elected to the Board, we will be asking for homeowners to volunteer to serve as new Board members. For the past five years the Association has faced not enough homeowners running for the Board and not enough votes being cast to have a quorum at the annual meetings. This year we would like all homeowners to consider becoming a board member.
Board members usually only give two hours a month of their time for the monthly meeting. (And about an hour reading the material to be discussed at the meeting.) The Board Members make the decisions about the future of the Association. Some issues considered by the Board are the amount of association dues, the yearly budget, project plans for the common area, and the awarding of contracts to vendors who work on the common area facilities. These decisions are important to the future of our Association and home values.
Please take a moment and consider becoming a member of the Board of Directors. Our future depends on you! If you have any questions about the duties of the Board of Director?’s, the qualifications to become a board member or other issues, please contact Borg property Services at 480-456-6927.

WHAT IS AN OPTIMIST CLUB?
An optimist club is a group of concerned citizens joining together to help the youth in their community. The Optimist Club motto is "Friend of Youth ". Working directly with young people in their community, Optimist Club members organize and conduct many types of events and programs for youth. Each Optimist Club tailors its service activities to meet the needs
of its community. Often, an Optimist Club will respond to a special local
need... by providing relief to disaster victims, or by building athletic fields,
or by sponsoring youth bands or choral groups... anything is possible to
an Optimist Club member! Funding
for an Optimist Club's projects is
generated from within that club's community, and the funds generated tend to stay there... where they can do the most good.
Informational meetings are being held Saturday mornings at 8 A.M. at Mulligans restaurant in the Western Skies Country Club (on the south side of Warner between Lindsay and Val Vista just west of the railroad tracks).
