DIRECTOR?’S CORNER
When it rains it seems to pour. Stonecreek HOA has been facing numerous issues this past month.
The first issue is the repair of the pool tiles. Of eleven (11) companies contacted to replace the tiles at the swimming pool, only one (1) was willing to work with Shasta glass (the pool surface). This company will not replace the missing tiles, but insists that all of the tile must be replaced to avoid the numerous tiles falling off in the future and support the contact point with the Shasta glass. The Board of Director's is considering different options for the swimming pool at this time.
The water feature motor burnt out due to a ball bearing. The cost to repair or replace the motor is substantial. The Board of Director's has received bids for the replacement of the motor, and anticipates the prompt repair. Borg Property Services?’ immediate concern was mosquito's breeding in the water feature. According to Water Works by George since Talapia Fish are present in the water feature, they will eat any mosquito larvae.
Please know that both issues that Stonecreek HOA is facing at this time have been at the center point of Borg Property Services and the Stonecreek Board of Directors attention. We are all working to resolve the issues in a prompt manner.
While dealing with the water feature and swimming pool tile, we faced the most vandalism of the summer. Many sprinkler and bubbler heads were destroyed on one night. The vandalism occurred from the boundary of Stonecreek HOA and Freestone park to Wind Drift. The cost to repair the irrigation system was $784.00. According to Davis Pools, on the night of August 18th approximately 20 lbs. of rocks were dumped into the pool. The cost of this clean-up had not been received by the date of this printing. While we agree that there are times we would like the swimming pool to be filled in, this is not the way to do it!

SAVE OUR WATER
?“Water usage for each Gilbert resident averages more than 200 gallons per day, but that number could be reduced substantially if more people took small steps to conserve water. The Town of Gilbert has promoted water conservation in a number of ways, including offering free home water audits and by encouraging the use of xeriscape plants and shrubs, which require much less water than most other types of landscaping. There is a lot more residents can do to conserve water during this time of drought, including dozens of tips that do not require a lot of effort or thought. Here is a list of some of the simplest water-saving tips to consider using right away, along with an estimate of how many gallons of water each tip could save. For more ways to save, visit www.wateruseitwisely.com or call the water conservation office at 480-503-6098 for more information.?”
