STONECREEK NEWS
A MONTHLY NEIGHBORHOOD NEWSLETTER FEBRUARY 2000 issue
_________________________________________________
DIRECTOR'S CORNER:
LET'S HAVE A PARTY

May is a time for graduations and parties, so the Board of Directors will have a party with free food and drink to begin the May celebrations. The party will be free, but you will need to attend to enjoy the food and door prizes, which will be announced just before the meeting. This party will also include the annual Board of Directors election. The party is planned for the first week in May, so mark your calenders. We're in the process of reserving the party place, and we will let you know the exact date when it becomes available.

If you would like to be a candidate to be a member of the Board of Directors, please fill out the form found in this newsletter and send the form to Borg Property Services. A list of the candidates who submit this form will be in the April newsletter along with your usual proxy/absentee ballot forms. If you have questions, contact Sharon (Volunteer committee 480-497-8124) and a Board member will contact you to answer any of your questions.

As a member of the Board of Directors, your responsibility would be to attend the board meetings, conduct the business of the association, act in the best interest of the HOA, and act as a reasonable person. There is normally one board meeting a month lasting approximately two-three hours. This meeting is usually during the third week of the month. The exact day of the meeting is agreed upon by the Board members and Borg Property Services each month. (We have families, classes, meeting, etc. too.)

ANOTHER BLOCK WALL PAINT PARTY
We expect to have another block wall paint party in either April or May. Call Sharon Howes if you want to participate or if you think your wall needs painting this time.

ASSOCIATION ACTIVITY:
WATER FEATURE VANDALIZED AGAIN!
$265.91 - The lights at the water feature were vandalized and repaired. We had to replace two lamp holders, one photocell, and two lamps.

We received a check for $2,630.00 from the insurance company for the water feature pump vandalism last year.

THERE WAS NO COMMON AREA WORK TO REPORT.

THERE WERE NO CONTRACTS AWARDED.

UPCOMING CONTRACTS ARE:
* Replace all pool tiles. This work will be done while the pool is closed for the season,
* Cool Deck repairs,
* Repair tennis court chain link fences,
* Paint all the tennis court poles (light and fence)

As always, Stonecreek residents are encouraged to submit bids for any contracts that the Board of Directors will be awarding. Prospective bidders can obtain bid specifications from Borg Property Services. All contractors must meet appropriate license and insurance requirements.

KEEP YOUR SIGNS OUT OF THE MEDIANS:
The Town of Gilbert has a few regulations that must be followed when you post a sign (yard sale etc.) One of those regulations is that you may not post your sign in the medians or on the sidewalks. "Signs must be taken in at the end of the day and cannot be left overnight or over several days."

If you have questions or know of a violation, the phone number of the Code Enforcement Department for the Town is 503-6879. They will be happy to help you.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE REPORT
Call Sharon Howes if you want information on a committee or want to join a committee (480-497-8124). Sharon will then handle the volunteer communications between the Board of Directors, the homeowners and Borg Property Services.

ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL COMMITTEE REPORT:
The committee processed the following requests:
RECEIVED: 2
APPROVED: 2
DENIED: 0
PENDING: 2

Remember that the CC&R's require ACC approval before starting projects that will change the appearance of your home or yard. You can get ACC forms from:

(1) Borg Property Services at 480-456-6927
(2) George at 480-926-3619 (Stonecreek Resident) or
(3) Frank at 480-926-4412 (Stonecreek Resident),

Call George, Frank, or Borg Property Services on ACC issues. George and Frank deal with ACC issues only; they are not responsible for handling other issues - like complaints about the HOA etc. For the fastest responses call the proper committee or Borg Property Services.

HOA WEB PAGE
As predicted, activity at the site has increased this month. We continue putting the newsletter on the site before it is mailed, updating committee reports and adding new links. This month's new link was to INFOSPACE.COM which allows you to search for names, business and E-mail addresses. (To find an E-mail address, go to Web Page, then to Find People, then to the E-mail Search.)

Although they were anonymous, we thank the folks who gave us their opinion on the Discussion Areas last month.

Come visit us at (all lower case):
www.neighborhoodlink.com/stonecreek

GET INVOLVED:
We still need help on the ACC committee. They generally meet once a month to act upon the ACC requests submitted.

Two members of the Board of Directors will leave the Board in May, so there will be opening on the Board of Directors in May.

You may contact the Volunteer Committee for further information on a committee or for joining a committee.

MONTHLY HOMEOWNER TIP:
If you cannot conceal your trash containers, keep them as close to the gate wall as possible. You might consider hiding them with bushes or a small fence. Keep your yard looking nice to keep the Association looking nice.

If you see landscape or ACC violations, call Borg Property Services. Nancy can tell you if the violation has been noticed and whether it is being fined or not. If the violation is not being fined, Nancy will verify it and issue a violation notice as needed.

DID YA KNOW ABOUT GROUNDHOG DAY? :
"Groundhog Day, in U.S. popular tradition, the day (February 2) that the groundhog, or woodchuck, comes out of his hole after winter hibernation to look for his shadow; foretells six more weeks of bad weather if he sees it; spring is coming if he cannot see his shadow because of clouds; supposedly goes back into his hole if more bad weather is coming and stays above ground if spring is near; statistical evidence does not support this tradition."

"BUBBLEBOY IS BACK"
There is a new generation of virus that can infect your computer without being an attachment and without even being opened. This virus (worm actually) is called BubbleBoy and currently only infects Microsoft Outlook users.

For this specific virus, the fix is easy. If you receive an E-mail with the subject line "BubbleBoy Is Back" just delete it without opening or previewing it. For a fix and further information, visit our web site and go to Virus or Hoax and search for BubbleBoy.

REMINDERS:
If you have any questions for the Board of Directors or comments on the newsletter, call Borg Property Services or attend the monthly Board meeting.

It is a Town of Gilbert ordinance that your dog is on a 6-foot lease when you are walking your dog. This includes in Freestone Park.

When you walk your pet, please clean up any messes that it leaves behind. To leave their mess is an HOA violation and a Town of Gilbert Code violation.

All residents are encouraged to attend the monthly Board of Directors meetings. Call Borg Property Services for the time and location and to insure that we have available seating.

SELLING YOUR HOME*
Please help yourself by telling your title company that a sale is pending and that they must notify Borg Property Services of the pending sale. Borg Property Services has seven (7) days to inspect your house before the sale can be completed.
