Strathmoor Village commissioners are eager to make rules for the Villagers but they have no rules for themselves!

That's right! Strathmoor Village has no By-laws. But that is not stopping them from making rules for us.

In fact, they can make rules and not tell us about them until after they have made the rules. The easement rules were first read at a ''special'' rather than regular meeting. When residents asked about the rules they were told they were on the website (March 12) or they would be discussed later in the meeting (July 11). But those statement were not accurate - they were not on the website and they were not discussed.

It was at the July 13 ''Special'' meeting with no guests that the Ordinance No. 20 was discussed and passed.

Our leaders need to keep residents informed about the rules they are making for us and quit making them at ''special'' meetings.
Interested in Seeing the Rules

I too am interested in seeing the new ''rules''. I asked for a copy when my house closed years ago and was amazed to be told there wasn't a copy available. Then, I went to a council meeting and asked for a copy almost two years ago. I was told that there was not a cohesive copy of the ordinances. They were scattered in several different places, due to different administrations and they were ''working on combining it all into one document''. Kudos to the new council for actually getting a new document prepared and ready to distribute. They've been promising us all a copy for months. Now if we could just get our copy so we could read it and determine if we agree with what's in there or not.

I'm trying

I'm trying to get the commissioners to post the new rules on the website but so far they are refusing. If you call Janet Board she might have the police deliver one to your house - that is what she finally agreed to do for me when I was not home when someone tried to deliver it.
