Janet Board, Your RESPONSE, election issue Strathmoor Village newsletter WAS as you stated, "inflammatory politics ans so reckless, not worth dignifying with a response."  But, I make an exception.

Yes, we understand the KRS 83A.040 statute.  What Janet left out of her response letter was the fact that the last commissioner vacancy was on January 14, 2008 and that vacancy was not filled until February 11, 2008.  A full 28 days later.  The board of commissioners never notified the residents of Strathmoor Village of the vacancy.  They never asked for the residents input or who would be their choice to fill that vacancy.   Janet also alluded to the fact that Bob Baker was not a candidate for the vacancy because he was already on the ethics board.  She also stated that Richard Speelman was  next on the list of voter choices from the 2006 election.  Both of these statements are false.  I have copied and pasted  the actual minutes from the two Strathmoor Village Board of Commissioners meetings that pertain to the appointment of this commissioner.  Janet, Bob had more votes than R. Speelman in Nov. 2006 and was next on this "candidate list", but he is not one of your yes men so as far as you were concerned, he was not even considered.

THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE STRATHMOOR BOARD VILLAGE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON MONDAY JANUARY 14, 2008 AT FIRST CAPITAL BANK                  Tom Bishop resigned from the SV Board.  After discussion J. Board nominated Richard Speelman for the position of SV Commissioner, and V. Bell nominated Bob Baker for this position.  Bob Baker spoke about his experience and qualifications for this job.

THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE STRATHMOOR VILLAGE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON MONDAY FEBRUARY 11, 2008 AT FIRST CAPITAL BANK                      COMMISSIONER VACANCY    Due to hazardous road conditions Richard Speelman (candidate for SV Commissioner) had not yet arrived for the meeting.  After discussion J. Bowman made a motion to delay the SV Commissioner Vacancy vote until Richard Speelman arrived, and J. Board seconded.  The motion passed with the voting as follows: Jay Bowman-yea  Janet Board-yea   Marilyn Mitchell-yea   Vicki Bell-abstain

COMMISSIONER VACANCY              Bob Baker and Richard Speelman explained their qualifications for the position of SV Commissioner.   Christian Jensen said that he was going to be a candidate, but would not be a candidate as there were already two qualified candidates.   After discussion J. Board recommended that Richard Speelman be appointed to fill the vacancy of the SV Commissioner, and J. Bowman seconded.  The motion passed with the voting as follows:  Jay Bowman-yea   Janet Board-yea    Marilyn Mitchell-yea, and Vicki Bell-nay.

So, Richard Speelman was Janet's choice.  The same Richard Speelman that has been banned from this forum for his statement "stick your hostility up your Gladstone"

This city needs less "appointments" and more neighborhood input.  Janet not only is your Response letter inaccurate, but your attempt to finally start informing the residents is too little too late.

MR. Baker,

I do not know why you think that I have been banned from anything?

I speak my mind.  If you do not have the fortitude to stand up for what you beleive, please leave the management of the city to the adults.

have a great daySmile

Mr. Speelman, are you claiming you were not temporarily banned from this site?

Mr. Speelman, What is your answer to being banned on this forum? Where is your fortitude? Oh yes I forgot- you're a legend in your own mind.
