It has already been stated on our page "What is the meaning of Street Bridge Connections" that we are not a religious organization. However, it is difficult in our westernized society to do something that is for the betterment of others without being somehow biblically grounded.
The olive branch has significant meaning; when Noah sent the second dove out after the flood rains had stopped, it returned with an olive branch. This branch signifies the new beginning of a peaceful world to Noah and his family The olive branch or the olive oil extracted from it has been a discussion in several literary works.
LOGO EXPLANATION

Note: Our term "taking it to the streets" is a widely used term which simply means that this is the method of our surveying for the most part. We visit people in their homes and on the street. This has also been noted in our explanation of what the word "street' means in our name.
Later on in the bible, the plant refers to the scattering and gathering of the Hebrew Isrealites. This needs to be viewed in terms of people in the community using SBC as an advocate in bringing something to the community, such as programs, services, etc that will aid in accomplishing its goal of working together as a unit.
