The states that provide instate tuition for undocumented students are New York, California, Texas, Utah, and Illinois. Other states, like North Carolina and Minnesota, are reviewing their policies regarding undocumented students.


2. What are the risks for undocumented students attending CUNY?

Attending CUNY is not very risky since this system of schools accepts students regardless of their immigration status.


3. What is the DREAM ACT?

The DREAM Act(Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors), and is also known as the Student Adjustment Plan. It is a bill that if passed would provide undocumented students between the ages of 12 to 21 with legal residency.


4. Why is it important to pass the DREAM ACT?

If the DREAM Act is passed it will benefit more than 65,000 students who would contribute to the U.S. more than 13 billion dollars per year.


5. Who are required to fill out the FAFSA?

Every legal resident applying to college should fill out the FAFSA. However, undocumented students are not required to do it, so students should check with their college if they should file a FAFSA.


6. How do I Apply for Financial Aid?

Undocumented students are not eligible for financial aid given by the governmnet.

Students applying for scholarships should make sure they meet the scholarships' requirements and that they qualify with their immigration status.
