Thieves

Posted in: Hamilton Highlands
I don?’t know if anyone else has had their house broke into, packages stolen from their front porch, or their car vandalized but recently between my neighbor and I all three of these things have happened! We have a pretty good idea as to who we think it might be but that can not be confirmed. It?’s sad that we can not leave our houses and feel as if things will be safe and be there when we get back. I think everyone in the neighborhood needs to be on the look out and keep their eyes open to ANY suspicious activities that they see. I read in this discussion forum that everyone wants a nice safe place for their kids to play and live but that will never happen if you choose to bicker with your neighbors and not have some kind of talking relationship with them. After all it?’s your neighbors who will be around when your not!

And for the person that I?’m sure is going around doing all of these things and I know you will read this I?’m watching you now so always watch your back!

Im very sorry for your troubles. Ihave called patrols a few times, late at night. But they don't act too intrested. And as far as '' bickering'' with neighbors, doesn't happen on our street, we all watch out for one another. I will continue to keep eyes open.... more so since we know this.
Hope they're caught!

thieves/strangers

Just a couple weeks ago a stranger claiming to represent a carpet cleaning company appeared very suspicious. I really don't think this guy was from the neighborhood. I called the police shortly after he left my porch. They came and spent a good 20 to 30 minutes with me. The officer said I did the right thing by calling and assured me they'd circle the neighborhood in the following days around the time of the episode the day I called. They did circle and I think they do care. The importance of this is, the more the police are notified of situations in our area, the more they'll patrol. I'm for calling our tax paid officers for documentation of our issues. It won't hurt to call our police officers no matter how small the incident seems to be.
I do have faith that the more calls made to our law enforcement will only bring more patrols to our community. CATCH THE THIEVES!!!!!!!!

I would also say that the Cols PD does care. A few weeks ago me and my wife were watching TV at about 1am and someone tried to open our front door. You could hear them turn the door handle. I went outside but i didnt see anyone. We called the PD and they were there w/ in 5-10 mins and patrolled the neighborhood for about 15-20 mins for what i could tell. I agree please watch out for your neighbors and call the PD if you see anything out of normal.
