Dear Neighbors,
With 2006 behind us and our annual meeting fast approaching, we wanted to take this opportunity to share with you some of the accomplishments we made in 2006.
As you well know, landscaping has been a problem in the past. As a board, we focused much of our energy on improving the look of the neighborhood. To this end, we cleaned up the current landscaping by trimming overgrown trees and shrubs that had been neglected for many years.
We then removed dead and dying trees throughout the neighborhood and replaced them with new trees. In addition to replacing lost trees, we added trees throughout the neighborhood to improve natural shade and beauty.
These trees require less water and have a better chance at long-term survival than some of the trees previously dominating our neighborhood landscape. We also had new trees along Elm Street added to enhance to the overall look.
The other main accomplishment we?’d like to point out is that we created a neighborhood website. On this website, you can find helpful information about our small community, and the larger community of which it is a part. This includes information about local government, police and safety, and some general information about Homeowners Associations and the Suncrest Villas board meetings will be listed for anyone interested in attending; prior notice for attendance is required. In 2007, we plan on adding forums and other community communication resources. The web address is: http://www.neighborhoodlink.com/chandler/suncrestvillas/
Also in 2007 we will make further improvements to the landscape. We will upgrade all watering systems as funds allow. This will be our main focus before performing any more plant upgrades. To reduce extra spending, we continue to research the availability of city grant money, which is available for Chandler communities that wish to perform neighborhood upgrades. Please keep in mind that we had a very bad frost this year and the landscaper will be dealing with frost damage accordingly.
Please mark your calendars for March 14th for the annual Homeowners Association Meeting. This years meeting will be held at the Chandler Branch Library at the North East side of Rural & Ray, starting promptly at 6:30 pm.
Items up for discussion are:
1. Raising the monthly maintenance fee ?– please come be part of the discussion as to how much we should raise the rate for 2008.
2. Maintaining the look of our front yards ?– the real question is how do you want our neighborhood to look? What is acceptable and what is not? It is important that we do not let things get so out of hand that our neighborhood takes on the ?“anything goes?” look. Please join in the dialog as we resolve this issue once and for all.
3. Garbage/Recycling receptacles are too often being left in the front yards of many homeowners. We will be discussing how to handle it and how much and how often fines will be levied against violators.
4. Participation in HOA board ?– this neighborhood belongs to all of us and we urge you all to please just think about being part of the board and the decisions made going forward. It really takes less time than you would think. But for now, please mark you calendars and come to the March 14th meeting.
We look forward to a successful year, and always encourage you to let us know how we are doing by attending meetings and providing constructive feedback to Team Management. We are a small group of people trying to do what?’s best for the community, and to do so we need to hear from you!
Thank you for your support,
Suncrest Villas HOA Board Members
