Sunnyside/Greenview Neighbors for Action

Hi - I recently saw gang tags on some signs and last weekend there were two reported attempted muggings at Glenwood/Berwyn/Summerdale.  How do we get increased police patrols/protection in order to keep our neighboorhood safe?  Any ideas? I'm pretty new to Chicago and very distressed by this recent decline in safety - it's not the first attempted crime I heard about.  Thanks for any suggestions.  KR
