Community Festival & Garage Sale

Posted in: Evergreen Park Estates
Get Involved! Meet your Neighbors! Clear out your Garage! Make some Money! Listen to some Music!

Announcing EPE?’s first Festival/Community Garage Sale! Meet your neighbors, avoid the stress of holding your own garage sale, clear out your garage, and make some money, all while listening to good music, chatting with your neighbors, and eating a good hot dog!

The EPE Festival/Community Garage Sale is scheduled for Sunday, May 18, 2008, to be held at Wilmot Elementary School. In addition to music and food, people will be able to ?“buy?” a space for a small fee, where they can set up a table or lay out a blanket, sell their own stuff, and keep all the profits. For an event as fun and big as this one will be, we need as many folks involved as possible.

Please volunteer to either co-chair Nancy Friedman (scp-nef@eazy.net or 303/679-4905) or co-chair CeeCee Mullen ( catdogdr@lycos.com or 303/495-5867).

Please sign up for one or more of the following working committees and be a part of the fun:

Vendor Committee (vendor form, sign up vendors, take money, chalk off spaces, assign spaces)

Financial Committee (maintain records, receive money from vendors, food and drink sales, bake sale, donation table sales, etc., present final accounting to Board)

Facility/Insurance/Legal Committee (make sure all permits, licenses, insurance, legal and facility requirements are taken care of)

Food Committee (arrange for grills, folks to operate the grills, food purchase [hot dogs, hamburgers, sodas, chips], handle sales at event)

Lemonade Committee (logistics, recruitment and supervision of an all-day lemonade stand operated by kids)

Raffle Committee (legality and logistics of holding a raffle at the event, walking around and selling $1 raffles, with an hourly winner of one item donated from each vendor?’s table)

Entertainment Committee (finding musicians and/or setting up continuous music)

Set-Up/Clean-Up Committee (Let?’s make this a party that will attract hundreds of people! Balloons on tables, etc. Clean-up after the event)

Advertising Committee (Ads into the local papers and the Denver Post, and signage all over Evergreen)

Donation Committee (for folks who prefer not to sell themselves, accept tax-deductible donations and coordinate table where donations can be sold and the money goes to HOA)

Bake Sale Committee (solicit bake sale items, coordinate table where bake sale items and coffee can be sold and the money goes to HOA)

Plant Sale Committee (organize and coordinate plant sale table)

CANCELED

Garage Sale/festival has been canceled due to lack of volunteer support. We'd like to thank everyone who stepped forward and volunteered their time. We will try to come up with a few other fund-raising ideas that will help raise money to support our efforts to maintain the water quality in our community.
