The Tampa Bay Area is still experiencing a water shortage. Find out how you can help conserve our precious water resources by visiting the Tampa Water Department's Water Conservation Web site at www.TampaGov.net/SaveWater The Tampa Water Department is asking all residents and business operators to suspend all outdoor watering when we experience significant rainfall. Under the current water use ordinance, residents would be allowed to water on Sunday, or Tuesday, depending on address. The voluntary reduction of all outdoor watering when we experience a good rain could result in an aggregate savings of 30 million gallons of water. The region continues to suffer from the effects of a prolonged drought, and this type of action would help the department manage its short-term demand. The department encourages this type of voluntary reduction in outdoor use anytime we experience significant rainfall.
