Evangelist cassandra AArons was commissioned by the Lord Jesus Christ more than 8 years age to fulfill his divine purpose in Queens, New York. Since that time, she has kept busy ministering and prophesying life to those who are lifeless. She collaborated with her husband, evangelist Timothy Aarons and together they created "Taking it to the Highways and Biways ministry.
The primary focus of the ministry is to improve the physical, emotional and spiritual life for individuals who live in the inner cities, and who are in need. Each year, for example, the ministry clothes and feeds over 1,000 people. Taking it to the Highways and Biways also last year provided assistance for those who needed jobs and housing.
The AArons say God planted a vision in their spirit to serve the inner-cities and to provide service to those who are rejected by man, but received by God. After this vision, the Aarons formed various outreach ministries, including tent, shelter, street and the Good Samaritan Ministry. Last year we put up a tent on Main Street, Mount Vernon Avenue, Cleveland Avenue and Livingston Avenue. Literally thousands of souls have been touched by these tent meetings. The leader from the Bloods gang was saved on Livingston Avenue and brought other gang members to the tent to get saved.
The couple says they enjoy helping people, but are bothered by some of the bad things people say about the church. They note that there are good people out here in the world trying to make a difference.
Taking it to the Highways and Biways Ministry has been recognized by local communities, WCVO, WVKO, The Columbus Dispatch, Column Post and Metropolitan Area Church Council, churches and police departments for their commitment to the homeless, fatherless children, widows, handicapped, substance abusers, crack and heroin addicts, the elderly, molested children, rape victims and for their attempts to feed the hungry and clothe the naked. "God did not call us to be judges, prosecutors, or accusers, but rather he called us to be servants", says AArons. "I am convinced that the best leaders are those who look through the eyes of a lamb. Keep in mind even if you have never been poor you should always have a heart of love just like Jesus do. Our endless challenges made us better leaders and more sympathetic persons. God wants us to develop a heart for the poor. Some churches do not want the poor in their churches. Many churches just want the rich and famous in their church, she said.
The AArons said, " Many people in the community has recognized our efforts to promote goodwill, and to help ease tension and conflict within the Greater Columbus Area. And we appreciate all our current supporters for all their help"
