In the March 14th, 2013 TRA meeting discussions arose about the Yard of the Month program. The program has lapsed in recent months due to various reasons but the Beautification Committee is interested in reviving the program to help revitalize the sense of community within Tanglewood.

To do that we need your help! Right now we are looking for your input: Who wants to judge? What should the criteria be? How does a house get nominated? Should there be more than 1 YotM?

I quite agree to the yard of the month program.  The Beautification Committee has done a terrific job with the redtips at the entry.

In my opinion, the contest needs to be advertised within the neighborhood.  Some type of reward, and without nominations, homes should be chosen via a committee.  Any home should be available for the contest so you can award someone who may just keep their home and yard up properly or someone who made special efforts for the contest.

Consolation letters (no reward) should go to those homes who maintain their home and yard.  This could reinforce them through motivation.

I would be glad to discuss this more and please extend my thanks to the beautification committee for their work. 

yard of the Month is a Great Idea.  Please see if you can come to our meetings and make your suggestions about it I agree we need motivation and rewards to keep it going.  This year it has been very hot and owners put a lot of time and money into their yards, planting, watering and mowing.  We need more motivation. to do more Anew fence is also included in this event.
