The next month offers a couple of opportunities to enjoy the warm weather. We are having another July 4th Parade around the neighborhood. We are also planning a neighborhood picnic, scheduled for July 16th. Every one is welcome to enjoy our community.
Our neighborhood has had a real community feel to it this year. We had a number of neighbors step up to help clean up and lay mulch on Tantallon Circle. Mulch for the circle was donated by the Kwest Group, arranged by a neighbor.
The residents of Towbridge Circle stepped up and took the lead to redo the landscaping with labor provided by Sylvania Southview Horticulture Department. The neighbors were rewarded with a portion of the costs covered by association treasury.
When a neighbor noted a street light out, it was referred to Toledo Edison with a note about the decaying condition of the paint on the poles in the neighborhood. Both of the issues were addressed
Our community has also stepped up when dealt with tragedy. Whether at the scene, or in the days after, neighbors offered their assistance to the Smith family in the aftermath of the fire that took the life of a wife and mother.
My goal has been for the Tantallon Association to be more than a cul-de-sac mowing service. The last few months have proven that we are succeeding.
I would like to welcome a couple of new officers to the Tantallon Assocation that stepped forward at the annual meeting. Kendall Gigax has stepped up be Vice President and Sue Vangen has offered her services to the Block Board.
This new infusion of ideas will help make us stronger and I appreciate the offer of time they have provided.
