What is the purpose of this website? Does it have a charter? Who is coordinating this website? We feel there is some need for clarification at this juncture.
The Tatum Ranch Community Association has recently relinquished its authorization and direct control of the website. This occurred a couple of weeks ago due the abusive nature of some discussions and the lack of ability to monitor on our behalf. The Board for Tatum Ranch instructed Neighborhood Link to immediately cease and the site was shut down. Neighborhood Link (who is our partner in providing this service) changed the name of the site to Tatum Ranch Neighbors and posted the website a few day later.
This is when we got involved in the process. When discussing with Neighborhood Link the issues involved above, they mentioned they needed someone to volunteer to coordinate the Website. This site can have a positive impact and provide a positive exchange for solving our community concerns.
However, there needs to be certain guidelines involved in posting to this site. Neighborhood Link is designed to be the primary source for civic communication for every neighborhood in the US. We are taking some information directly from the "Terms and Conditions of Use Agreement" which reads as follows: "It is a condition of your use of the Bulletin Boards and this Web site that you do not: post or transmit any unlawful, threatening, abusive, hateful, offensive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, profane, indecent or otherwise objectionable information of any kind, including without limitation any transmissions constituting or encouraging conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any local, state, national or international law."
We believe a reasonable persons standard could apply here to not having specific addresses posted, private individuals targeted, or unsubstantiated claims. These discussions will be deleted as they only serve to divide and serve no constructive purpose.
This site is offered as a community service to the residents of the Tatum Ranch area. We are not associated with the Board or management of this association, just members of this community like you, but this is still "your" website. Post community events, issues of concern, coordinating events, school issues or events, cut and paste a message and email it directly to the Association office. Just drive friendly, the Tatum Ranch way.
