Ten Dollar Club

Welcome Ladies!

Hey Ladies, Most of you are aware as to how this club came to be. For those of you who do not and would appreciate a little history.....

I am a Social Worker by education and this has always been my profession. In early 2000, I was giving direct services to families with children who have social, emotional, physical and mental delays. Funding is always a concern when you are a non profit group. Thankfully, I have the best friends in the world and we love to get together for a girls night often. I called Leslie,Nan, Sherry and Leila to meet me at what is now Foothills Milling Co. and ran a Ten Dollar plan by them (bring $10 and a food or drink item) and the rest is history! Leslie agreed to be our treasurer and I went to work on an email list. Our first meeting was at my house and we had 32-35 in attendance! We have been going strong! We have given substantial monetary gifts to any theme involving children. Even though we began by funding summer camps, therapy and tutoring for children, we now are giving to agencies, schools and to individual families in need. We organize at least 1 event yearly where we include the men. BUT...we charge them at least DOUBLE. This club is discriminatory....we are CHICKS WITH CHECKS and we are a charitable bunch!
