$100 wasted

I completely agree. I spent $2,500 fighting Kroger myself and gave $100 to CANA to help with their lawyer. I would like to see that $100 back, so that I can put it to good use. CANA is not making a good decision on how to spend MY legal defense fund donation.

Legal Fund follow up

No money has been spent from the legal fund and no money will be spent from the legal fund until the executive committee and General Membership approves. The question in the newsletter was a ''feeler'' question to generate opinions about the use of the fund. It would of been best if more people would of answered either use or no to the response. According to the responses we did receive we did more yes replies then no replies. If you want your voice heard come to the General Membership meetings. The community needs and desires your opinion.

I do not think the newsletter was the proper forum to ''vote'' on this issue. No one in my area even received a newsletter. Then a number of people who did, did not see the ''feeler'' because of it's placement. It is my understanding that the ''feeler'' was placed in the newsletter without the approval of or consultation with the executive committee or even those who know our problem properties best. As a former long time code enforcement chair, I was never consulted, but I can tell you that $l,000 or $10,000 would not even begin to eliminate the problem properties in Colonial Acres. To transfer legal defense money that was donated in good faith for another purpose is, in my opinion, a betrayal of a trust.

There are other alternatives for dealing with problem properties that we can explore if we can get more volunteers. For those who would like to help us, please contact us through canacodes@bellsouth.net.
