Silly thing on Brand...

Ditch -this way...

My husband's home town uses these, but they are designed into the traffic flow, not just ''plopped'' down like this one. To me, it looks like it will funnel northbound cars into the ditch. It just isn't wide enough on that side. Perhaps it will be fixed, but for now, it just really seems like it will cause more problems than it solves.

Going in Circles On Brand

The use of a traffic circle on a narrow street like Brand seems more dangerous to me. The real problem is that Brand needs improvement. Getting used to the circle is not the issue it is just the wrong place for it. It should have been part of the original street design to be done right.

Mike spoke about road humps to slow speeding - a good idea. But good luck in getting funding for that! We have a 2 way stop in front of our home on Ridgegate that does some good to slow traffic but the traffic on the cross street (Kingswood) is a race way.
Info on Traffic Citcles

At last nights City Council Work Session, there was much discussion about traffic circles and their purpose. It was very informative, and if you missed it, I would highly recommend watching the replay.

They discussed the circle on Brand, and the information about that particular circle may change your mind, or at least give better understanding as to why one was placed at that spot.
