Drive down Miller from E. Lancaster to the T&P tracks and you find two properties with signs in their yard stating that they have signed with Paloma Energy. One is about two houses south of Hampshire on the east side of Miller. The other is about a half block north of Hampshire, also on the east side of Miller.

Since Paloma (or any other company) wouldn't be acquiring leases unless they already had a drill site secured or at least targeted, this raises a very interesting question. Exactly where can they put a drill site that's less than a mile from Miller and Hampshire?

The entire area is densely populated with only a couple of obvious exceptions. One is the corner of Miller and Rosedale, but unless Carnival has sold or leased the property, it's scheduled as the site of a new Super Carnival.

There's also a large piece of property that belongs to some kind of trucking operation that sits directly across from the USPS sub-station.

Beyond that, there's no 3 to 5 acre open space within a mile of Miller & Hampshire. Does anyone else have more information?

I was on the understanding that it would be at the corner of Rosedale and Miller as you explained. I know that there is some place that has a layout that shows all locations where applications have been filed for approval for drill sites. Lets bring this question up to the Greater Meadowbrook Gas Lease Comm. It is possible that they may have the answer.

Drill Site

Paloma is not a major player. They are just going to flip the leases to Chesapeake or XTO. So why not lease directly from the big boys? What really matters is who has the drilling equipment under contract.
