In order for us to get speed bumps we need to get people to the meetings to sign the forms that need to be turned in to Traffic and Engineering. The five blocks are: Shady Grove, Crestfield, Canyonwood, CastleRidge and Brownleaf.
Also the requirements for getting speed bumps/humps is to have an average of 500 vehicles travel 34mph in a 24 hour period. So you do what you have to do.

My child was struck by a car !!

Regretfully I was unable to attend the meeting, due to work. I feel the issue on the speedbumps is, whether or not 500 cars pass down the street shouldn't be an issue. In the past several years animals have been killed on the road in the neighborhoods due to cars, speeding or not. Just last year my child was struck by a car and luckily he/she came out o.k., but what really upset me was the fact that the person who struck him/her paid my child off to not tell me that this had happened. I feel it doesn't matter how many cars go through the neighborhood , but how much safer our children will be when they play outside. I mean honestly is it going to have to take a child to die to get them!!!

Speed Humps/Bumps

I totally agree what you mean by it shouldn't matter how many cars pass in our area. But unfortunatly it does to the San Antonio Traffic and Engineering Department. I really wish you would e-mail me or call me so we can discuss this. This could totally be advantagous to our cause of getting speed bumps/humps. If we could bring this issue up to our District Council this might perhaps sway them. These are the kind of things that they look for in issues of this matter.
