SHOULD WE MAINTAIN OUR OWN COMMON GROUNDS OR CONTINUE TO PAY THE LANDSCAPING CREWS FOR THIER AVERAGE WORK?

Who would do it?

I would suggest that we take certain steps if we are truly unhappy with the quality of their work. I do not believe that we should do this work ourselves, for certain reasons; Who would be responsible? Who would take complaints? Who would be in charge of delegating the work (and thus, ''firing'' if a job were unsatisfactory)?

We pay a Management company to do this now. They hire the landscaper, and they take the complaints. If there is a problem, folks in the neighborhood need to know they should contact ProComm. If the problem is not fixed, we need to find out why: Is it truly the Landscaper, or is it ProComm? Then we would need to make the choice of action: Fire the Landscaper, or fire ProComm.

There is a reason for the management companies. Many neighborhoods have found this out the hard way...Let's take a lesson from them, and work with the management company. If they do not fix it, then we change management companies (And it CAN be done).

Landscapers vrs. green thumb nei

The Board has put this issue up for vote because we want the neighbors to get involved in decisions like this one. The landscaping contractor we have, has done what they are paid for. The ''basics'', they don't do weeds, don't fertilize and don't plant. If we want more, we have to pay more. I'ts not cheap, but it is convenient.
If the neighbors want to save this money ad use it some other ways (ei. social activities, plants , fertilizer, etc.)a beautification committee will be created. These individuals would be assigned common areas and be responsible for them. If there is a complaint, Procomm will take it and pass it along to the chairman of the committee.
Please let us know what you think, vote for your choise and if there is a question let us know. Our e-mail addresses are posted on the home page.

Bids...

I can understand that the current company has done only what they were hired to do in regard to landscaping. I would like to know what they are paid, and what they are hired to do. Also, does this contract come up for bid? Who else has bid upon it before?
