Parking .. both sides or...

Posted in: Encino Rio
one side only? Streets are narrow and sometimes people park with little space to pass. Is this by design to slow traffic or even impede? Or is this just indifference to the affect on the neighborhood. Is it our business how someone else parks in front of their property? Who's space is this? Who has the right opr the responsibility to act in the community's best interest. Does the neighborhood majority have the legal right to manage issues thta impact another neighbor? Who's interests are we representing?
How to decide what side, or when

Which side goes first and when would it change to the other side?

Who decides?

How often?
Parking

I don't know any of the answers to those questions. I live next to a family that has 5 cars, which at least 2 are parked on the street and in front of my house, one being an oversized pick-up and there was a trailer at one point as well. In order for my kids to be able to play basketball in our driveway, I move my car to the street for the duration of their playing....but given the car situation next door, it makes for a tight squeeze for through traffic.
Parking more than 2 cars

is an issue in out neighborhood. The CCR guideline states only two card should be visable from the street at any residence. Unfortunately many residents exceed this. I will bring up a conversation about this and see what options are available to influence a change to reduce the number of cars parked per residence. This is an issue at more than 5 homes right now. Thank you for bringing this up.

When one person determines something as an issue usually it can be seen as a personal one, but when more voice their opinion this can create a vocal concensus. This helps to generate discussion and resolution. With effort and coordination we can reduce the number of incidents. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
