For anyone interested:
Hello,
My husband and I participate in Operation Christmas Child, a project initiated by a nonprofit organization called Samaritan's Purse. Basically, you get a shoebox (or plastic container the size of a shoebox or a little bigger) and fill it with toys, school supplies, hygiene items (no liquids!), hard candy and a personal note for either a little boy or girl age 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Log on to www.Samaritanspurse.org/occ and print out a label for the gender & age you picked. (This labels is taped on top of your shoebox).
You can then drop off your shoebox @ 8523 Gablebend Way in the Hammocks Townhome community Nov 17 & 18 and we will take it to the drop off center at the New Tampa YMCA (you can also take it there yourself if you prefer). These shoeboxes get shipped out all over the globe for Christmas. They are sent to children who are poor and living in impoverished countries. It's a great project for the entire family to get involved in! The barcode that prints out with your label actually lets you track where your shoebox winds up. Check out the website for more info.
Thanks!
Maggie, Dex, and Noah Rabren :)
