You can support us financially.

The Literacy Center is completely self-funded and depends on individuals, businesses,foundations and civic organizaions to enable the good work to continue.

You can become a volunteer tutor.

Volunteer tutors for TLC complete a comprehensive training program which prepares them to teach individuals students or small groups the literacy skills they need to meet their personal and employment goals

The training is 18 hours, which is held on six consecutive days or evenings. Following the completion of training, volunteers will be matched with an adult who wants to learn to read, improve his or her writing or math skills, prepare for the GED, learn English as a Second Language or obtain U.S.Citizenship.

The waiting period for a tutor is 9 months to a year.
