Financial Report
Bill Kessler is not present; therefore, there is no report. Jodi Bessinger did transfer all information to Bill so he could proceed with treasury business.
Ongoing Business
?• Truck Traffic/ Two-Way Streets: Phil discussed working on two-way streets as well as working on truck traffic. Don Driskell suggested that one of our talking points should be safety in terms of addressing both two-way streets and truck traffic. Phil will try to get an appointment with Metro Councilman Unseld to address these issues. Don suggested bringing Maj. Green (LMPD) and the Public Safety Department at U of L. Don suggested talking with a Carolyn with Kentucky Heritage Counsel. Last year they granted 70 million to historic neighborhoods.
?• Adam Andrews gave an update on wanting to set up a meeting with Unseld regarding the garbage truck problems.
?• Landscaping: Aaron Jent, Ken Herndon, Luann and Paul worked on the entrance to the park and it looks beautiful. Ken provided some of the mulch for the park as well. There is no update on the trees for the tree-wells. Thank You Guys!!!!!! We all appreciate your hard work!
?• Clean-up Efforts: Central Park Clean-up is this Saturday (5/19), from 8:30-12 pm. Lunch is provided. They need volunteers to help pass out lunches also.
?• ZALU: Aaron reported that condominiums on First & Oak are almost complete.
?• OLN: nothing, already discussed
?• Crime and Safety: Don reported that the first Bike Patrol is out in force. Crime in 2007 is down 20+% from last year. Walk on Oak Street has been very nice and is turning into a very positive thing. The Oak St. Walk is every Wednesday at 7 pm
?• Fundraising: Cards are printed, but Dennis is out of town. Will review sales & distribution ideas at next meeting.
New Business
?• Annual Central Park Improvement Day: April 14th. In Central Park @ 8:30 am-12. BBQ is provided after.
?• Discussion of Litter and efforts: None
Other:
?• NPR did a story with Kevin Kuba regarding the value of Old Louisville.
?• This Saturday, U of L is having their surplus sale on 1840 Floyd St. from 9 am. at their warehouse.
?• Junk collection is May 28th. Put your junk on Friday before and they will pick it up.
?• Third Annual Trash and Treasure Alley Sale is this Saturday, May 19th from 7 am ?– 12 pm. Alley behind 200 Block of East Oak
?• Irene Spicer asked about some type of Toonerville mailer to the neighborhoods to make TTNA more visible. Don suggested approaching the Saint Philip Neri about placing a TTNA flyer into their Newsletter that they walk around and deliver. Board members will work on this.
?• Jodi will get membership list to OLNC.
?• Don discussed that PBS will be filming a documentary in Old Louisville
?• Tour busses have been moving through Old Louisville.
?• Central Park fund planted Redwoods, Redbuds, and Dogwoods in the park. There are lots of things happening for improving the park.
