TTNA Meeting Minutes 19 June 2008

Phil opened the meeting @ 7:00 pm

?Œ Review of Minutes from Last Meeting
Did not review minutes.

?Œ Financial Report: Ethel provided report of spending and accounts. Ethel reported $2351.44 left in the TTNA account.

?Œ Ongoing Business

Two-way Streets- Stopped for the moment.

~Crime and Safety: Phil did talk about issues of graffiti on Brook, Ormsby and Floyd. Phil reported that local police are aware and may have caught the guy(s) who may have been doing this.

?Œ New Business

Toonerville Dog Park: Brian Davis, president of the Louisville Dog Run Association (LDRA) and Jerry Brown, Metro Parks, came to the TTNA meeting to discuss interest in placing Louisville?’s next dog park in the OLNC area. Mr. Brown & Mr. Davis discussed the origins of the other dog parks (Sawyer, Vetner, Cochran Hill). Mr. Brown brought an aerial map of TTNA park and discuss possible areas to establish a park. Mr. Davis discussed how the LDRA helps with funding the park through tag sales ($25.00). Mr. Davis talked about LDRA?’s non-for-profit status and how all proceeds of LDR support the dog parks. TTNA members discussed concerns about using all or most of the green-space in TTNA Park?’s back lots and possibly using the Tennis courts. TTNA members Jodi Bessinger, Nancy Woodcock and Kirstin Furnish will be putting together a presentation to take to other OLNC Neighborhood Associations to discuss getting their support for a dog park in Old Louisville.

Limestone Wall: Nancy Woodcock will also present support for the granite cap on the wall in TTNA Park to other OLNC Neighborhood Associations. TTNA members voted to donate $1000 dollars towards the purchase of the cap (vote of majority yes, and 1 no). The original estimate for the cap was $72000. Nancy is trying to raise $3,500 in donations. Phil will prepare a letter to take to the OLNC Associations asking for their financial support.

TTNA Newsletter: The first edition of the TTNA Newsletter was provided @ the meeting and members had a chance to give feedback. The newsletter was stuffed into the St. Philip Newsletter and TTNA members signed-up to help Bill distribute the flyers around the neighborhood.

Movies in the Park: Discussed needing co-support (sponsors) to provide the movies in the park. Motion was made to create a small committee to discuss gaining more support for the movies in the park. Discussed a target date of Labor Day to have a possible showing of a movie in TTNA park w/ support. More information will be provided @ July ?’08 mtg.

Other Business:

Phil discussed supporting Gary Kleier in re-applying for the Louisville Landmarks ?–Historic Preservation Committee. Phil asked is TTNA would support Mr. Kleier?’s nomination in writing a letter on behalf of TTNA supporting Mr. Kleier for the Landmarks Commission. Majority vote (100%) that TTNA writes a letter of support. Phil will write this letter.

Phil also reported that he continues to work on 501 (c)3 Non-for-profit status.
