Even with a new gate, someone can just follow another car through. When we have cars and trucks that damage the gate, how will having a new one prevent that??  Then, WE have to pay to get it repaired - as we have so many times in the past. Since at least one of the Board members has a MBA and is fairly proficient in crunching numbers, why not let them figure out what is worth the expense and how will we recoup the money. The Board members are volunteers (unpaid helpers). If someone wants to devote much of their personal time to the Board, stand up and be seen! We can always use more help.

Even with a camera installed, anyone can still damage the gates. How do you propose to follow through. just by filing a report does not necessarily mean the gate will be repaired and payed for be the person who damaged them.

If someone damages the gate, we will have a record of who it is. Then, yes, we file a report and, if necessary, sue for damages (and lawyer fees.)

Having an MBA does not mean one has common sense, but it does mean that someone is proficient at methodologies of combining financial ratio's, short-term liquidity and long-term solvency, profitability in relation to investment and other finance and accounting ideas.

Actually, I believe one Board member had the original idea, one different one spoke positively about it and then two others had to act quickly to get a very good price on the whole deal. Perhaps since ONE member wasn't included and feels left out, the Board should try harder to communicate internally. I believe that area in particular has been addressed by the Board several times. Too many people going too many directions at the same time.
