One house; one vote

I'm absolutely in favor of one house, one vote. The current system is outrageous.
Ditto dues. Flat fee for everyone.

Why do builders need to vote ?

I thought about this for about 10 mintues.

Why does the developer need ANY votes in our HOA ? He's not a Home Owner !

Does the developler/builder actually pay any CCHOA dues or assessments ? Isn't that the question ?

If you pay dues, you should be come a member ? So, perhaps the developers should be excluded from paying dues.

Anyway, think about this. With one vote per house, there isn't any problem with assessments - NO MORE ASSESSMENTS

It's really a simple prospect.

Everyone pays the same - our neighborhood homes really aren't that different in value that a flat fee would produce any hardship, in my opinion.

One vote per house and flat HOA fees.

It's no like the builders are unwelomed or disadvantaged. I'm all for keeping close ties to the developers, with ethical boundries.

Good question, Mike.

We should add it to the candidate's debate!

Money

Just a couple thoughts; please note I am not pro/con anything here (yet); just thinking about it. But generally I like the simplicity of one vote/home with flat fees.

1) how much of the CCHOA budget comes from developer lots? How easily can that be cut w/o raising homeowner's fees?

2) are we changing the rules in the middle of the game if we take all developer voting rights away? How is this fundamentally different from large home owners proposing that only homes greater than 2800 s.f. get to vote?

I am amused by Mr Rigsbee's endorsement of a ''one lot, one vote'' scheme; wouldn't this have won the election for Mr. Barlett?
