Saturday was one of the most exciting I've witnessed here in Circle C Ranch.

First, the Bowie High School marching band paraded through the streets, followed by a concert at the pool for the kids party. I missed that party, but I didn't miss the adult's party at the Wildflower Center.

It was a perfect night, cool, but not cold, and very dark on their campus. The starts were out and the music at the party was very inviting.

We took a flashlight, which is a good idea if you ever get the chance to visit the WFC at night. The parking lot is not lighted and it has several thick rows of trees and brush, so you have to follow the roads and walking paths, which is really fun.

The entrace is a long walk along a overhead aquaduct - the collect rain water off the roofs and send it to a large round cistern, which is located at the parking lot entrance. You walk past these 15 foot tall ivy covered stone arches on the way into the courtyard.

They cleared out one of the art galleries for the party and had tables inside and outside. The food was excellent, the music was just right, and the setting could not have been more appropriate.

I hope we can do that again next year. The WFC it a truely special place for us and it's within walking distance for most of us, or a short car trip across MOPAC.
