Myself and a handful of Circle C volunteers will be helping to plant about 80 native trees along Slaughter Creek from 9-12 Saturday morning (Feb 5).

We still need a few more folks.

If you have older kids who need a little exersize or some community service experience, this is a great opportunity and it will lead to MORE !

Please contact me first so that I can give you the details you will need. Send email (below) or give me a call at home.

Tools will be provided, but not food. You will need to dress for cool weather and I'd recommend that you bring your own gloves.

A lot of people have expressed an interst, but only a few have actually signed up to work. This makes it a little difficult to plan, but you are still welcome.

We all want this to be a Circle C neighborhood activity, because this Water Quality Land is the northwest border of our neighborbood.

We will only be able to use this property IF we get enough volunteers to manage it. It's not a city park, so there are no paid city employees or park people to maintain it. That's going to be our job.

It's just like those groups who pick-up litter on the highways. We want to be the property care takers so that we enjoy the property, hike on it's trails, ride bikes, and possibly even ride horses on it.

The city of Austin does have money earmarked to build the trails and all they are waiting on, is for enough volunteers from Circle C Ranch to assure them that the land will be taken care of.

Susan Hoover Should Plant ALL Those Trees.

Susan charged us more than half million of landscape maintenance in 2004. She should plant all those trees.

Susan:

Could you please tell us who were the three evaluators serving on the Contract Review Committee helping you to retain the landscape contract? Are they your neighbors and friends?

Are you using those seven outside bidders to make the bidding process look legitimate?

Are we that easily to be fooled?
